Yes, you must have a service contract in place for all lifts. You must also have regular LOLER inspections for your lifts.
People-carrying lifts: must be inspected every 6 months.
Goods-only lifts: must be inspected every 12 months.
Most service contracts include regular maintenance visits in between these inspections, usually 2 to 6 visits a year, depending on how often the lift is used.
